Any creed book that contains more than the Bible, contains too much! Any creed book that contains less than the Bible, contains too little! And any creed book that contains nothing but the Bible is useless! We already have the Bible! Revelation and Galatians say that we are not to add to God's Word, nor can we subtract from it.

And - of course – the motto we’re discussing this morning: “No Creed but Christ, no Book but the Bible, and No Law but Love” Many within our brotherhood have explained their frustration with Creeds by saying that: “If a Creed says less than the Bible does it says too : Jeff Strite. The Apostles’ what. America’s roughly million adherents of Churches of Christ generally proclaim “no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible.” As a result, many are unfamiliar with the Apostles’ Creed.

Some may wonder about the fuss over President Donald Trump choosing not to recite it at this week’s state funeral for former President [ ].

This is a really good study series. The book and the DVD raised good, useful questions in the group meetings, and made my week sermon series on the Apostles' Creed more meaningful and enjoyable for the congregation.

You really need all three: the book /5(). In The Creed of Christ, Gerald Heard masterfully examines the Lord's Prayer, which he describes as, the real creed of Christianity. Today is the day God cares for the integrity of creation. In the book, we showed that the Cross of Jesus Christ is the sign of the covenant of the Redeemer of Isaiah Indeed, as we showed in our book, the prayer pattern of the Lord’s Prayer is a continual reminder of the message of the cross, for it daily focuses the attention on and belief in Christ’s death on the cross, which is central to.

It is likely that you have heard the expression "No creed but Christ" or "No book but the Bible" before. Through these expressions, Christians are often seeking to maintain a high view of the Scriptures. In fact, some think that this is what "sola Scriptura" means: The Bible is the only authority for the people.

We like to say that "We have no Creed but Christ, no book but the Bible." We take the Protestant principle of "Sola Scriptura" very seriously. We do have something akin to a faith statement -- The Preamble to the Design of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), but while it looks creedal we rarely recite it in worship.

Many Christians look questionably upon traditional church confessions, proclaiming “No creed but Christ, no book but the Bible!” In today’s excerpt from What Christians Ought to Believe, author Michael F. Bird explains that creeds are not only biblical, but also critical for identifying what scripture says about God, Jesus, salvation, and the life of the age to come.

The most controversial part of the Apostles Creed is the statement “He descended into Hell.”It’s amazing how much hate this statement gets from Christians; but, I am hear to tell you that it is crucial to the understanding of the nature of Christ, the.
